About Safari Youth Exchange
Our Story
At Safari Youth Exchange, we're passionate about J1 exchange programs. Our headquarters is located here in Ghana, West Africa. Our team have some years of experience managing and facilitating J1 exchange programs as partners to J1 Sponsor agencies in the US. We are also experienced at training our participants on the visa process as well as leveraging our alumni support group to share their experiences to make integrating in the US as smooth as possible. Whether you're a first-time J1 exchange participant or a returnee, we're here to help you plan your next adventure.
Our Services
We offer a range of J1 Exchange programs to make your international exchange and travel experience seamless and stress-free. From J1 Camp Counselor, Summer Work & Travel, Summer Support Staff, Summer J1 Intern and F1 Student programs to flight bookings, hotel reservations and travel insurance, we've got you covered. We also provide personalized visa training, US integration trainings, and ways to utilize knowledge and connections acquired to make an impact in their home countries upon return from US.
SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR
We assist accredited J1 Visa Sponsor Agencies in the US to recruit highly qualified diverse talent to work as Camp Counselors in camps all over in the United States. Our rigorous selection process always provides us with best talents that ensures peace of mind for both our sponsoring agency and employers in the United States.
Camp Counselors will occasionally have to:
Perform non-counseling duties as part of camp life, but not serve as “staff.” For example, they cannot serve as administrator personnel, cooks or menial laborers such as dishwashers or janitors.
Camp Counselors must be:
- Sufficiently proficient in the English language to supervise and interact with American youth.
- A foreign post-secondary student, youth worker, teacher or individual with specialized skills; and
- At least 18-years-old.
SUMMER WORK AND TRAVEL
We offer participant/ staff recruitment for our partner sponsoring agency and employers in the United States. Our campus representatives go out to various schools in the region to hold career fairs and shortlist best applicants for our Summer Work and Travel Programs. These participants come to the US fully prepared and ready to work for their employers in different industries and make their customer experience a long-lasting one. What sets Safari Youth Exchange apart from the crowd is our US Visa and Cultural Integration training that makes our participants fully ready and aware of what is expected of them. We also have a 24/7 on call support to assist with most questions a Sponsor, or an employer may have.
Summer Work Travel Students must be:
- Sufficiently proficient in English to successfully interact in an English-speaking environment.
- Post-secondary school students enrolled in and actively pursuing a degree or other full-time course of study at an accredited classroom based, post-secondary educational institution outside the United States;
- Have successfully completed at least one semester or equivalent of post-secondary academic study; and
- Pre-placed in a job prior to entry unless from a visa waiver country.

The Summer Work Travel program provides foreign students with an opportunity to live and work in the United States during their summer vacation from college or university to experience and to be exposed to the people and way of life in the United States.
SUMMER CAMP SUPPORT STAFF
The support staff play a vital role in the smooth operation of camps, serving as their essential pillars.
Summer Camp Support Staffs may be placed in roles such as:
Culinary Team: Responsible for preparing delicious meals, assisting chefs, serving food, restocking the salad bar, and handling dishwashing duties.
Cleaning Crew: Involve cleaning communal areas within the camp (such as offices, bathrooms, corridors), ensuring cabins are stocked with essentials like toilet rolls, maintaining camp vehicles, lawn care, and managing laundry services.
Summer Camp Support Staff must be:
- Sufficiently proficient in English to successfully interact in an English-speaking environment.
- Post-secondary school students enrolled in and actively pursuing a degree or other full-time course of study at an accredited classroom based, post-secondary educational institution outside the United States;
- Have successfully completed at least one semester or equivalent of post-secondary academic study; and
- Pre-placed in a job prior to entry unless from a visa waiver country.
Benefits
The Summer Camp Support Staff program provides foreign students with an opportunity to live and work in Camp in the United States during their summer vacation from college or university to experience and to be exposed to the people and way of life in the United States. They also gain international working experience while working in various support positions at a US Summer Camp.
SUMMER INTERNS
We offer students and graduates the chance to delve into career exploration and development while acquiring new skills. Through our programs, students have the opportunity to gain valuable firsthand experience, access professional opportunities, and experience personal growth. This holistic approach not only enriches their skill set but also enhances their competitiveness when seeking employment in their home country. As an intern, you'll acquire pertinent skills that will be a valuable addition to your resume.
Interns must be foreign nationals:
- Who are currently enrolled in and pursuing studies at a foreign degree- or certificate-granting post-secondary academic institution outside the United States; or
- Who have graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to their exchange visitor program start date.

F1 STUDY IN USA

We aid students in crafting a carefully curated list of suitable institutions, guide them in securing recommendation letters from their high school counselors, and offer comprehensive training on obtaining SAT scores, particularly for scholarship purposes. Additionally, we provide invaluable support in preparing and submitting robust, competitive applications to a range of schools.

Our programs are tailored to offer students personalized guidance and assistance throughout the visa application process.
